The first man drowned at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in Suffolk County after falling into a swimming pool while clearing snow at his home in Cutchogue, said Southold Police Det. Richard Buonaiuto said.

Responding officers pulled the unconscious man from the pool and began CPR with the assistance of Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue personnel, Buonaiuto said.

The Cutchogue Fire Department transported the man to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

In Nassau County two men and a woman died in storm-related incidents, police said.

Nassau County Police reported early Saturday morning that a snowplow driver found a dead woman inside a car in Uniondale.

Police said it appears the unidentified woman suffered some type of medical event and couldn’t seek help.

The next incident took place about 2.30 p.m. when a 75-year-old man collapsed while shoveling snow at a Barbara Drive home, the Nassau County Police said.

The Syosset Fire Department responded, performed CPR, and took the man to North Shore Syosset Hospital, where he was declared dead, police added.

The second man was found dead around 10:40 p.m., Saturday lying next on his back with a shovel beside him near a home on Belmont Circle, according to the Nassau County Police.

The Syosset Fire Department responded and transported the victim to North Shore Syosset Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:19 p.m. by hospital staff.
